This is a song originally from the Naked Ant Split, rereleased on Pink Rounds. When compiled for Pink Rounds, an additional section was
made part of the song, adding various audio clips spliced together, reminiscent of the Smashing Pumpkins' Pastichio Medley, or more
closely related, Guided by Voices' Back To Saturn X Report. This sound collage was not present in the version on the Naked Ant Split.
Though the exact locations and origins of the clips are not entirely known, some of the locations the clips were recorded in are Cadiz OH,
Lawrence Park, Edinboro, and Dormont.
Song Clips
- 0:00-0:39 - For All Time (2014)
The original track from the Naked Ant Split.
- 0:40-0:49 - "Four Castles" (spoken) (2011)
Ethan's Grandfather was messing around with his four track recorder, saying "four" something, replacing the word after "four" each time. He then said "Four Castles." Ethan liked it, so he asked him to say it again. This is the origin for the title of the album Four Castles and the song Four Castles.
- 0:49-0:54 - Highway (2015)
This is the original demo of Highway, it sounds quite different from the final product.
- 0:54-0:55 - Instrumental (2011)
This is an instrumental that Ethan made for a high school presentation.
- 0:56-0:58 - Visor (live) (2014)
This is a live performance of Visor that begins with Ethan saying the iconic line "Take it away, JD."
- 0:58-1:03 - Gradual (2013)
This is a demo from Ethan's pre-Barlow Hardcore band, "BOX OF LAMB." As such, it is a pretty fast, heavy song. The full version is up on BOX OF LAMB's bandcamp.
- 1:03-1:03 - "What?" (spoken) (2014)
This is a clip of Ethan's ex girlfriend saying "what?"
- 1:03-1:08 - "Put our hands together" (spoken) (2014)
Starting with someone saying "here we go", it cuts to a man at an Erie venue introducing Barlow before they took the stage, saying "while Barlow sets up folks, we're going to put our hands together..." He then went on to make a bunch of racist jokes, and the entire room heckled him off stage.
- 1:09-1:13 - Georgia (2014)
This is an acoustic version of Georgia.
- 1:13-1:18 - Flirty Fishers (2010)
This is the original demo for what would become Crossin.
- 1:18-1:21 - Highway (2015)
This is the second demo of Highway, much more resembling the final product than the previous demo.
- 1:21-1:34 - Assorted snippets of Blue Rounds/Pink Rounds/Findlay extras (2010-2015)
- 1:21-1:22 - (Boarding the) Rapture Boat
This is seemingly the same version from the original release of Findlay.
- 1:22-1:22 - Unknown 1
Personally this sounds like more of Flirty Fishers, but since the clip is so short there's no real way of telling.
- 1:22-1:26 - Unknown 2
This is an acoustic demo that starts cutting out at the end of the clip.
- 1:27-1:28 - Blue Rounds
This is seemingly the same version that appears on Blue Rounds.
- 1:28-1:29 - Hannah
The recording sounds like it's a different take or cut part of the Findlay/Blue Rounds version of Hannah.
- 1:29-1:33 - Miles of Lace
This is possibly a different version than the Findlay version.
- 1:34-1:44 - Accosted (2016)
This is the demo of Accosted from Blue Rounds, albeit played at a slower pitch.
- 1:44-1:46 - Highway (2015)
This is the ending of the original demo of Highway.
- 1:46-1:53 - In the Air (2011)
After a brief blast of feedback, it goes into the isolated vocals of In the Air.
- 1:53-1:56 - Salon Walk (2017)
This is the demo of Salon Walk from Blue Rounds.
- 1:56-2:00 - Tempeh (201?)
This is the original demo of Tempeh.
- 2:00-2:03 - Liars (2010)
These are cut up pieces of a song that would later be released by Ex Pilots on the Thirty Days single. Much like many other clips in this collage, it is a different pitch than the released version.
- 2:03-2:07 - Melatonin (2014)
This is the original demo of Melatonin.
- 2:07-2:27 - Belief (201?)
This is an outtake originally recorded for Findlay. It is a mid-tempo rock song that eventually slows down before the song ends.
