Released: January 16, 2013
Fell Asleep is Barlow's second EP, and is their most well known release. Fell Asleep is actually a collection of demos that were intended to be rerecorded. Originally, Ethan came to JD with around 30 songs he wanted to record, but JD thought that was too many, so they cut it down to these seven tracks. Most of these tracks would see a later release, either on Blue Rounds, Findlay, or some other release. The original album cover is a screenshot taken from a Lebanese clothing commercial. Due to this, the album cover has been replaced with a new one on other streaming services, though still bearing the two figures. The two figures also serve as the band's defacto logo.
Pre-dating the Fell Asleep EP were the In the Air and Saint Walker EPs. Not much is known about the In the Air EP, other than it had six tracks on it and CDs of it were given out for free at early shows. The Saint Walker EP featured three songs from the Fell Asleep EP as well as Lower My Gaze. Old Facebook posts show that the Fell Asleep EP was
originally going to be a full-length, with a working title being "Hastur." This is probably what the "30 songs"
Ethan brought to JD were, which included the Fell Asleep songs, Cindy-99, Sun, Lower My Gaze, Aratron, Nowhere, Hastur, Hannah,
Trophy Boy, Traffic Lights, How's Your Mind, and Boarding the Rapture Boat. How's Your Mind was possibly put as a bonus track on some
cassette copies of Fell Asleep.
