Barlow is a shoegaze/indie rock band from Erie, Pennsylvania. Formed in 2010, they consist of Ethan Oliva, Jake Nowoczynski, and Andy Yadeski. Drawing inspiration from bands like Guided by Voices and Husker Du,
Barlow has a distinct lo-fi sound that sets them apart from their contemporaries. Ethan and Jake met in high school, and bonded over Sonic Youth, and shortly after formed Barlow. Eventually, they recruited Andy, and started
performing as a three-piece. They have released four full-length albums, and several singles and EPs. As of 2023. they are currently on hiatus.
Ethan is the lead guitarist and singer of Barlow. He formed the band with Jake in 2011.
Jake is the bassist of Barlow and other founding member.
Andy is the drummer of Barlow. While looking for a drummer, Jake found Andy through a Facebook music group, and shortly after joined the band.
Mitch is a friend of Ethan, and is the frontman of Gaadge and a member of Ex Pilots. He has played on a few Barlow songs, and sometimes plays guitar with them.
Ralph is another friend of Barlow's and a member of Ex Pilots. Around 2014-2015, Ralph was the second guitarist for Barlow, but had to leave due to moving to Pittsburgh. He also wrote the song "Crankcase" for Barlow.
Jay is an old friend of Barlow, and was the second guitarist during 2012-2013. He also left due to moving.
